Yesterday Brad Pitt’s new film, Fury hit the big screen for its opening night. For his latest return of the World War II genre arena after Inglourius Basterds, Brad Pitt, working with End of Watch director David Ayer in this latest men-on-a-mission war drama, Fury.

Brad Pitt plays Sergeant ‘Wardaddy’ Collier. He is a tank commander on a mission behind enemy lines. Having kept his crew alive and safe throughout the war, the final push into Germany during the final days of the conflict puts pressure onto the team as things get tougher.

Logan Lerman, the new recruit to the team, fresh-faced and barely old enough to take hi place as the gunner I to find that war is a cruel and unsparing teacher. Lerman shot to fame in The perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) staring with Emma Watson and Ezra Miller. This Mr. Mudd Production with John Malkovich, Leanne Halfon and Russell Smith at the helm is one of three films created by the trio that features struggling teenagers. Lerman’s character, Norman Ellison, in Fury, however, serves as the entry point for the audience into a tight brotherhood with their own language, inside jokes and profound affection expressed through aggressive horseplay. Norman's inexperience, though, puts the men in danger, and his ideals, his lack of bloodlust for the enemy, could get them killed. Wardaddy has but a day to transform him from a clean-cut, innocent to a battle-scarred warrior.

Armourgeddon owner, Stuart Garner spent four weeks on set with the cast at Wattlington on Oxfordshire. His role was to drive the Sherman through the set locations and, in a key section of action, to practically run over Lerman. Stuart says of his role in the blockbuster ‘Working with such a high calibre cast and directors was a real privilege. They wanted not only for our Sherman to be a prop, but to really understand it as a machine, to really get under it’s skin.’ Stuart and his tanks are no strangers to the big screen. At the start of next month, a further film staring our Sherman tank, Allies, will hit the DVD shelves on the 1st November. Staring Matt Willis of McBusted fame and Edmund Kingsley (son of the famous Ben Kingsley), are members of a team of British soldiers led by a US Captain. Dropped by parachute behind enemy lines in France, the team are on a mission to recover some secret documentation that could shorten the war. As nothing goes according to plan, commando Sergeant Harry McBain and Captain Gabriel Jackson know they must put aside personal animosity if the mission is to succeed. Inspired by true events, Allies tells the story of friendship and survival.

During this film, our Sherman tank is clearly visible with our unique name emblazoned on the side, Armourgeddon. Not often are we able to make this claim when our tanks are used as props in the movies. Take a look at the movies, and let us know what you think.
