So the mornings are still dark and the evenings are still very long, but we continue to be treated to a damp but very mild winter this year. That means we can carry on driving tanks around our tracks here on Southfields Farm.
Granted, our main season with weekly opening of Saturdays Sundays and selected Wednesdays begins in April and runs through to October, but we are still running battles through this mild weather.
If you have a group of 6 people or more we will open up the track any week-day for you and your team. For a Tank Paintball Battle, we will train you in the three positions in the tank: driver, loader and shooter. Once everyone has had a chance to drive the tank around the track, firstly with the hatch open and then with the hatch shut in battle conditions, driving with sight through the periscope only, we park the tank up for target practice. The loader position trains each person on charging and loading the 40mm canon fixed to the top of the FV432 tanks we use for Tank Paintball Battles, then once charged, control is passed to the shooter. Aiming is again instructed and once happy, the shooter gives the call to FIRE and the loader releases the paintball and hopefully hits the specific target!
Once everyone is up to speed with all positions and is an expert in tank maneuvers, it’s back to base for a session planning which member of your team will take which position in the battle scenario. The battle will commence against another 3-man team with 12 shots being fired from multiple firing positions. The highest score of this battle is crowned champion!
Less than 6 people? No problem, we have open sessions running weekly from April through to October. We can either book your date in advance or pass you over a gift voucher if you are buying for someone else.
Tank Paintball Battles never fail to impress- just take a look at the comments on our Trip Advisor page or Facebook to see some of the testimonials.
Looking for a team day out, corporate event or training day? We can cater for groups from 6 to 120 with multiple activities including Tank Paintball Battles, regular woodland paintball, air riffle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, archery and quad bike safaris to name but a few! We can easily entertain your team for as little as two hours up to a complete day of action and activity including a variety of options on lunch. With the museum on site full of hundreds of WWI and WWII artifacts, there is always something to pique the interest of each and every individual. The seating and café areas, although very basic in terms of facilities, can also be used by groups needing an area to communicate with teams with some options for breakout groups should a communications forum be required as a part of your day.
Don’t let the mud, wind, rain or other weather put you off. Just take on our motto here at Armourgeddon- There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing! And anyway, no body gets wet inside a tank!
