Humber Pig

The FV1611 was built in the 1950’s by Humber, were just over 1,700 were produced and was quickly nicknamed the ‘Pig’.

In the 1960’s they rebuilt the Pig as a MK 2 giving it extra armour to defend against armour piercing bullets and rocket propelled grenades. Notice the huge bull bars at the front of the vehicle to help it barge it’s way through road blocks and barricades. The development was mainly for use in Northern Ireland where there were many different models of Pig. Here are just a few, Flying Pig, Holy Pig, Squirt Pig and Foaming Pig.

Description

This Humber Pig was bought from a scrap yard in Yorkshire in 2010 in surprisingly good condition. After a minor amount of engine work it fired up and ran lovely. After the usual sandblast and re-spray it was ready to go! Check out our YouTube page for video footage of the ‘pig in field’!
