Based on the tracks and suspension of the Stuart Tank, the M5 High Speed Tractor was first manufactured by International Harvester in 1942.
The M5 was primarily designed to tow artillery pieces such as the 105mm Howitzer M2 and the 155mm Long Tom field artillery.
Many M5 Tractors found life after military service in roles such as carriers for rock drills, logging and road construction.

The M5 High Speed Tractor was bought by Armourgeddon back in 2012 and came to us from a private collector in the USA. After waiting for all the paper work to clear and then the long old boat trip it arrived a went for a very short stay in the workshop. Some minor engine repairs and a full re-spray by the restorations team and she looks great and runs as sweet as a nut! Just to finish it off, we fitted a full new set of seats form a company called Allied Canvasses.
