We Are Recruiting!

We are recruiting!

As we head into the start of the new season we are looking to increase the size of our team. With a variety of paid and volunteer roles available, if you are interested in tanks, have some spare time, have a long holiday from University or are looking for an interesting hobby for your retirement, then read on!

Instructors

We are looking for a number of instructors to add to our team. Instructors are responsible for meeting customers at the desk, providing appropriate uniforms from the stores, running through the itinerary of the experience and of course training their crew in how to drive a tank, aim and fire paintballs from the cannons which top the FV432s.

Instructors are responsible for the health and safety of their crew as well as the basic upkeep of their FV432 tank. An interest in engines, military vehicles and large machinery is desirable. Instructors must be physically fit and agile, have an intrinsic teamwork ethic and be good timekeepers. A full driving licence is essential and above all, excellent customer service.

Instructors are required to work Saturdays and Sundays from April to October as well as one set Wednesday per month. There are often events during the week for corporate groups, which Instructors are often asked to work on.

This is a paid position, paid monthly on a day-rate basis.

Armourgeddon Support

We are looking to fill this position with someone who has an unusual combination of skills and interests! We are looking for someone to work, as a part of the Armourgeddon team for 3 days per week- and this role will preferably be linked to an Instructor role to provide close to fulltime employment in a seasonal capacity from April to October. We would happily be flexible in start and end dates for the right student who has a long summer break from University. Exceptional customer service skills are key, as well as organisational and time management skills, an interest in machines, engines and moving parts. This person will have strong IT and communication skills being comfortable working with simple computer programmes. Occassional farm work is not unheard of. This role really is quite varied and a good sense of humour is an absolute must!!

This is a paid position, paid monthly on an hourly-rate basis.

Volunteer Museum Curator

The museum at Armourgeddon has a collection of over 60 military vehicles as well as a significant volume of memorabilia from World War I and II as well as other theatres of war.

The museum is set out over 4 buildings on site at Southfields Farm. We are looking for someone to come and continue the work of previous curators in keeping the customer facing information up to date, adding new exhibitions, keeping the museum fresh and interesting, exploring new exhibition ideas and adding any new pieces we are donated from visitors.

Hours for this role are for weekdays and are completely flexible for the right person. The museum is open every day and so some customer facing communication may occur. This role can be developed for the right person as we would love to continue to improve our museum offering.

Volunteer Guides

During our Experience Days; Saturdays, Sundays and selected Wednesdays, our museum is extremely busy with visitors. As the staffing on site is related to the number of tank crews we have booked in, it is usually the case that visitors to the museum are left to their own devises. We are interested in having guides throughout the museum on hand to answer any questions that visitors may have, show visitors around who would require this service and also take feedback about customer experience.

We are looking for guides to be on hand in the museum for Saturdays, Sundays and once a month on a Wednesday. Hours are flexible by agreement in advance. This may suit people working through their Duke of Edinburgh Awards or any other award where a certain amount of volunteer work is a prerequisite.

If you are interested in applying for any of these roles, please email recruits@tanksales.co.uk stating which role you are interested in applying for.

Armourgeddon prides itself on having an excellent team ethic with our instructors returning season after season to work with us. Experience days are physically and mentally hard work but we are proud to have a loyal team who received fantastic feedback from our customers… and not everyone had a passion for tanks before they started with us!
